Car Detailing; Doing It Yourself

Car detailing is much more than just cleaning a car. It is about paying attention to the smallest details of a car. Some people find if time consuming and opt to just wash and wax their cars. Sometimes it is not enough to just hose your car in your driveway.

Once in a while, it is essential to detail your car. Detailing your car does not necessarily have to be expensive. It is something that you can easily do yourself after learning a few basics.

First and foremost, when detailing your car, begin with the interior of the car. It is good to vacuum the carpets and clean the upholstery. Other interior surfaces should also be cleaned with a damp cloth. You may find it a little difficult to clean the dashboard. You can use cotton swabs and always be careful not to tamper with anything. The windows should come after you are done with the interior of the car. The engine bay should be cleaned before washing the whole exterior. After that, wash the wheels and the lower part of the exterior.

After that, you can wash the rest of the car. Waxing should be done when the car is still wet. A nice polish should leave your car looking shiny and spotless. It’s all in the details. The main thing is to make sure you get to every nook and cranny of your car. Caution should be taken on the kind of products you use when detailing your car. Don’t just get any conditioner; find out which one is suitable for your type of car. Some cars are very sensitive and different products on them may have catastrophic results. Talk to a car expert or your mechanic and find out what works for your car.
